What is Your Personal Philosophy? Which pain would you choose – the Pain of Discipline or the Pain of Regret?

I love running the Hill, the Hill at the Northside Park. Sometimes, I (we) walk the trail. Here is a story behind running the hill. One and half month ago, I developed my Personal OKRs in terms of my Health.
OKR stands for Objective and Key Results:
Objective: “To be the healthiest version of myself.” (Aspirational, Inspirational, Purpose driven, Futuristic, Action oriented) What do you want to achieve? Where do you want to go?
Key Results (3 – 5 measurable statements) How do you know you achieved your objective?
- Running the Trail or Hill and connecting with nature for about one hour everyday for 3 months.
- Eating fresh fruits, vegetables, and Low carb – Now Carb foods for 3 months.
- Set aside 20 minutes for Mindfulness Practice everyday for 3 months.
- No Alcohol at all for 3 months
- Drinking 5 to 7 bottles of water everyday for 3 months.
I am super excited to be my healthiest version of myself! I am halfway through this journey. Every moment I realize the compound positive change in my life – my growth Mindset, 15 Pound weight loss in one and half month, identifying positivity in negitivity, work-life balance, family fun… I am very far from alcohol. I reframed the Pain to discipline. Here is my philosophy – “I am not alone. I have a litle family. I must invest in myself for my family, society, community, nation and the world. I am in the right country. I have the resources to start where I am now. I am going in the right direction. I have a purpose. I know my next intentional move. I am guided by values and principles. I considered my body as a temple as stated by Anil Keshary Shah. After that I practice mindful eating. Everyday I am learning and growing. I discovered – I am super happy when I make others happy.
Here is a key to consider. Put yourself First and only then others. You cannot pour from an empty pot to give it to others. You cannot teach how to loose belly fat having bigger belly in yourself. You cannot make others happy unless you are happy first! “I am super busy right now working on myself for you.” Read this again! You cannot teach others how to earn more money being yourself broke.
One month’s extensive research and journey within me enabled me to develop my PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY! Personal Philosophy is an overarching reflection of our authentic self, which is unique to each of us. I found a sense of purpose and meaning in my Name! DURGA’S as Acronym:
D – Develop and refine your personal Philosophy!
U – Use whatever resources you have!
R- Run whenever you get a moment!
G – Give Back & strive to become a Net-Giver!
A – Act with Integrity – Walk the Talk!
’S – Start where you are – Start Right Now!
As stated by Jim Rohn, there is always PAIN in both: Discipline and Regret.
Pain of Discipline = Now Pain, but Ultimate Happiness!
Pain of Regret = Now Pain, and Ultimate Pain!
The Pain of Discipline includes but not limited to:
✅ Getting up early in the Morning and doing Morning Rituals
✅ Doing Exercise, Mindfulness Practice, and Meditation
✅ Growing by learning extra skills,
✅ Sticking to values and principles,
✅ Living the purpose everyday
✅ Refrain from the hard and soft addictions like alcohol, TV, Mobile and so on…
It’s extremely painful to be disciplined, right?
The Pain of Regret includes but not limited to:
⏳ I am not enough.
⏳ I couldn’t do anything even in the right country.
⏳ My belly is big.
⏳ I cannot speak up.
⏳ I cannot do exercise.
⏳ I cannot learn this skill.
⏳ This is good but the time is not right now.
The list goes on and on…! The choice is Yours!
